Three More Sleeps

We have been counting down the days until Daniel and I leave for Ch*na. As the kids would say...3 more sleeps!  I think we have everything we need now.  It's just a matter of getting it all packed into the suitcases, weighing them and double checking to make sure we don't forget anything...  

We are SO ready to go get our girls!!!  Although I have to say, we were both ready to leave last August!  Ha!  

Next week at this time we will have our sweet Ruby already with us.  Her gotcha day is one week from yesterday!!  Gotcha day for miss Emilee Ai will be one week from tomorrow!  I have been referring to Emilee as Hailey throughout this whole process because that is her Reece's Rainbow name and everyone seems to know her as Hailey.  We love the name Hailey, but we knew she was actually an Emilee!  Her Ch*nese name is Ai, which means "love".  At the orphanage, she is called Ai Ai and she is well loved there.  We are so thankful for that!  

I can't wait to see how the girls do and we are especially hoping that Ruby will adjust well.  I know that she will be much more likely to have a difficult time with grieving the loss of her foster family.  But the fact that she has had a good relationship with them will be beneficial in the long run.  As always, if you would, please pray for both our girls and for us as well we would be so grateful.  Pray that Daniel and I will adjust to the culture, etc easily and be able to understand and give the girls what they need most during this time.

I have always looked forward to the day when I would get to be the one to post our itinerary like I have seen on so many people's blogs who adopt from Ch*na. So here it is...  Yay!

7/14     Arrive Hong Kong with UA869 at 6:15pm. Stay the night in Hong Kong.

7/15     Go to Nanning with HKG (5:05pm - 6:25pm). Your guide Bonnie will meet you at the airport and escort you to the Marriot Hotel.           

       

7/16     Meet Ruby at the Civil Affairs office and do paperwork.

7/17     Go to the Civil Affairs office and the notary’s office for more paperwork. Then fly to Changsha with CA3688 (2:30pm – 3:50pm). Your guide Wendy will meet you at the airport and escort you to the Dolton Hotel.

              

7/18     Meet Emilee Ai at the Civil Affairs office and do paperwork.

7/19     Go to the Civil Affairs office and the notary’s office for more paperwork. Rest and shop for supplies in the afternoon.

7/20     Pick up notarized documents. Fly to Guangzhou with CZ3387 (5:30pm – 6:45pm). Your guide Sarah OR Elsie  will meet you at the airport and escort you to the Garden Hotel.

7/21      Girl's medical exam including the TB test.

7/22      Sightseeing in Guangzhou.

7/23      TB test follow-up.

              

7/24      Free day. Rest.

7/25      Prepare documents and get ready for the visa interview with your guide’s assistance.

7/26      Visa interview and oath ceremony with the U. S. Consulate at 8:30am.

7/27     Pick up the girls’ visa in the afternoon. Go to Hong Kong by a chartered van (arranged by WACAP). Check in at a Hong Kong hotel on your own. 

7/28    Take international flight for home. 

We arrive back home in Durango about 7:30 p.m. on the 28th.
